- GSM/GPRS version: Technically suitable for operation on GSM networks worldwide (may require local approval in some countries)
- PSTN version: A ‘CTR21 standard’ modem suitable for use in the EU and many other countries with compatible PSTN networks (but subject to local approval in some cases). Very low power operation for remote telemetry applications
- Protection: Resistant to dust, water-spray (IP66 equivalent) and insect ingress
- Temperature operating range: Minus 20º to plus 60º Celsius
- Humidity tolerance: Air-venting PTFE membrane valve eliminates condensation caused by day/night-hot/cold cycles, without permitting water ingress (1.5 bar); this prevents damage to electronics and thus maximises reliability and lifetime. An essential in any climate
- Host connection options: Standard RS232 interface between modem and meter/host system; or connection to host meter or other telemetry system up to 100 metres distant via proprietary RS485 system and CAT5E cable (safety considerations apply)
- Low power operation and power options: Internal AC/DC power adapter. PSTN system has option of internal user replaceable battery pack with up to 10 year life @ 1×1 minute call daily. GSM modem can be provided with cable connection for external battery
- Small size: Suitable for mounting on meter-panels
- GSM antenna options: Standard system with internal antenna. Optional external high elevation antenna (with 5 metres of low loss cable), IP67 equivalent and weather proof
- Surge (Lightning) Protection: Option of PSTN line or GSM antenna protection against lightning strike. Essential in mountain and tropical areas
- Easy set up and installation: Modem systems can be easily installed without being disassembled. Easy bolt or screw mounting
- Low price: Low price compared with many industrial modem systems
- High reliability: All system components are chosen for high reliability, long life operation and environmental tolerance

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
- Industrial: Suitable for many factory environments. Optional RS232/RS485 modules enable a ‘daisy-chain’ of up to 255 x RS232-meters or RS232-terminals connected to one GSM or PSTN modem over 1km of CAT5E cabling
- Hard-to-Read Meters: The ENDURANCE modem systems can connect to meters up to 100 metres distant using RS232/RS485 interface adapters and CAT5E cables where, for example, meters are located behind security barriers. Bracket mounted, weather proof GSM antenna allows connection to modem 5 metres below, useful for meters located in cellars.
- Grid Meters, Substations and Other Outdoor Applications: The GSM/GPRS optional weather-proof (IP67 equivalent) antenna on 5 metres of low signal loss cable enables high-mounting in poor signal areas.
