POCKET GSM/GPRS MODEM

The GSM/GPRS modems from METMOTEC are designed for use in or with I&C electricity meters and other industrial terminals and instruments. They are employed in METMOTEC’s ‘ENDURANCE’ modem systems and are also available as discrete modems to utilities and meter operators. Key features and advantages are:

High-spec network analysers/signal testers for GSM 2G/GPRS & 3G/UMTS operation. METMOTEC’s CST product is the essential time saving tool for installers of cellular modems in the field. Enables rapid network connection saving labour costs of utility meter and telemetry modem installers. The handset enables the engineer to rapidly determine optimum antenna positioning, and shows availability of network operators in the area. There are two differently priced models:

– CST-2G for 2G-GSM/GPRS. Global operation on 850/900/1800/1900 MHz wavebands

– CST-3G offers 2G-GSM/GPRS plus 3G/UMTS for European Union operation on 900/2100 MHz wavebands

‘LONGRANGER’ HIGH PERFORMANCE ALL-WEATHER GSM ANTENNA

(GSM/GPRS/Cellular/3G)

Compact, penta-band antenna for use in weak signal areas and suitable for outdoor deployment from tropical to artic climates. It provides an external antenna option for the ‘ENDURANCE’ GSM/GPRS Modem System, or can be fitted to existing modem installations for improved communications. Very high quality, but competitively priced.

Standard product is supplied with 5 metres of low loss cable for high mounting. The standard product cable is terminated with an SMA connector but can be supplied with different types of modem connector including FME.

Supplied with a stainless steel ‘L’ bracket for wall mounting or can be bulkhead mounted. The N-female connector on the antenna base fits through a 16mm (5/8th inch) diameter hole and is held in place by a hex-nut and washer and an O-Ring creates a watertight seal.

The standard product is ground-plane-independent (NGP), meaning it must be mounted on a non-metal surface; optionally a ground-plane-required version (RGP) is available where mounting is to a metal surface.
